South Sudan Democratic Front says committed to CPA implementation
The South Sudan Democratic Front (SSDF)
South Sudan Democratic Front Supports the CPA
Press Release
October 9, 2007 — The South Sudan Democratic Front (SSDF) is deeply disturbed by the news published by the daily Intibah on Oct, 8th, which alleged that the Democratic Front denounced the CPA. The press release published by the Intibah was a release of South Sudan Liberation Front (SSLF). The publication of the SSLF’s release, as if it was authorized by the Democratic Front, caused emotional and psychological stress to the leadership of SSDF, supporters and the Sudanese people at large.
It should be made clear to media that South Sudan Democratic Front (SSDF) is not the new South Sudan Liberation Front (SSLF). Whereas the SSDF is fully committed to the CPA—which is the extension of 1997 Khartoum Peace Agreement—the newly formed SSLF, under Mr. Yien Lam Tot in Australia, is a political entity which does not have any relationship with SSDF whatsoever.
We therefore call upon the print media, particularly the editorial board of Intibah, to investigate and make the necessary correction on this regrettable error without delay. We hope this type of error will not repeat itself in the future.
