Salva Kiir reshuffles South Sudan cabinet

October 22, 2007 (JUBA) – The president of the southern Sudan government, Salva Kiir Mayadrit , in a partial ministerial reshuffle relieved two ministers from their posts and appointed two new advisors.

In presidential decrees issued on October 17, Salva Kiir, removed Michael Milly Hussein former Minister of Education Science and Technology and James Loro Cirisio, former Minister of Environment, Wildlife Conservation and Tourism.

He also appointed two new presidential advisors : Anne Itto as Advisor on Agriculture and Food Security and Abdalla Albert as Advisor on Development.

While the following officials changed their ministerial positions as ministers in the government of southern Sudan:

1. Dr Samson Lukare Kwaje – Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, former minister of information

2. Mr. Gabriel Changson – Minister of Information and Broadcasting, former Minister of Parliamentary Affairs

3. Professor Job Dhoruai – Minister of Education, Science and Technology

4. Mr. John Luk Jok – Minister of Industry and Mining, former Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports

5. Mr. Albino Akol Akol – Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, former Minister of Industry and Mining

6. Ms Agnes Lukudu – Minister of Environment, Wildlife Conservation and Tourism, former Presidential Advisor on Development

7. Dr. Martin Elia Lomoro – Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, former Minister of Agriculture and Forestry
