Lakes state Govt delegations in Greater Yirol

November 5, 2007 (RUMBEK) – A delegation from the government of Lakes State headed by political advisor Baipath Majuec a reached the town of Yirol West County since Friday to visit flood affected town and sitting up of special court.
Speaking to Sudan Tribune Yirol Commissioner, Agok Manyiel, said that he had received a team headed by Lakes State Political Advisory, Minister of physical infrastructure, and members of Lakes state legislative Assembly.
He added that MPs from Lakes State Legislative Assembly on Thursday November 1, 2007 arrived to Greater Yirol and met with the three Counties Commissioners of Yirol West, Yirol East and Awerial.
The delegations team has been holding consultative meeting with the commissioners of Greater Yirol. The delegations visited Yirol Hospital whereby thousand of patient are admitted due to malaria caused by flood outbreak last month,
Lakes State govt delegation found healthcare in Greater Yirol West, Awerial and Yirol East county under critical condition as well many disease might rose after flood return back to normal.
The local communities leaders complain form bad security situation due to tribal clashes, and floods affected areas as well Awerial is the victim for all county of Greater Yirol, Floods affected areas including main road from Yirol – Shambe, Yirol to Rumbek, Yirol – Tali, Yirol – Mvolo County as well no movement among local community.
There is no safe potable water e.g. hand pumps and water tapes in three counties of neither Greater Yirol nor communication facilities.
Jok ayom Majak the Minister for Physical Infrastructure, advised the community of Greater Yirol that the Ministry is responsible for roads repair and maintenance but safe drinking water are responsibilities of local NGOs located here in your area as well the ministry will monitor their work in the county.
