Sudan ruling party slams Salva Kiir attempt to address Security Council

November 12, 2007 (KHARTOUM) — The Sudan’s ruling party has accused the president of the government of southern Sudan of attempting to address the UN Security Council in order complain over the political crisis between the two partners of peace in the country.

Ban_Ki-moon_Salva_Kiir.jpgThe National Congress Party condemned on Monday an attempt by the FirstVice-President and President of the southern Sudan government to address the UN Security Council over the ill implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.

A statement issued by the NCP this evening in Khartoum said the SPLM through “The so called SPLM mission” in Washington “in flagrant violation of the UN charter” requested to give Salva Kiir the opportunity to address the Security Council over the political crisis between the NCP and the SPLM over the implementation of the CPA.

The ruling party said such move contradicts the principle of partnership between the two parties as Salva Kiir reaffirmed before his departure to the United States. Further, the NCP said the escalation raised by press statements made by the leadership of the SPLM abroad does not inspire a sincere will to overcome the crisis on the peace deal implementation.

The statement said the UN as intergovernmental organisation treats with the states not the regions, and diplomatic missions not the offices of the political parties.

Yesterday, Sudanese president Omer al-Bashir denounced the organisation of Salva Kiir visit to Washington through the Southern Sudan government office of liaison in Washington. He said “They are acting like an independent state.”

The President of Southern Sudan government, Salva Kiir, met the UN Secretary General on Wednesday 7 November in New York but the parties kept secret the content of the meeting.

In a move to protest against the delay in the implementation of the CPA with regard to Abyei issue, the border demarcation and the withdrawal of the Sudan Armed Forces, the SPLM suspended its participation in the government of National Unity on October 11.

Before the travel of Salva Kiir to Washington, the two peace partners agreed to form a six members committee to end the political crisis but the panel also suspended its work over divergence on its competence over Abyei.

The leader of the SPLM tried before his trip to Washington to ease the culminant tension in the country between the NCP and the SPLM but it seems with the latest developments the crisis is going to get worse.

Bashir should keep his mouth shut on South affairs otherwise it is the very South he had already bewitched only to keep it backward as it is now. Lets you build your own house Bahir otherwise you are a cobra in man,s living room. Your ever changing colours and truth denial is known and to call spade a spade is that,we are brought together by the CPA and attempt to misbehave with it seem not productive. Sealling your behaviour is not what we are after and the truth should be told to the watching world. And to ask this simple answerable question that, who is not aware that Kiir is both the president and first vice president of the Sudan and of which he can act as president of the South Sudan with the duties of any known president and in some cases as the first vice president of the Sudan, who is there to dictate it,asking why South behave like independent state ….intolerable nonsense.

According to the Comprhensive Peace Agreement(CPA)signed on the 9 January,2005 in Nairobi,Kenya between the Government of Sudan and Sudan People’s Liberation Army/Movement a deal to embrace a 21 years of bitter civil war,Government of Southern Sudan (GoSS)is to remain an autonomous region for six years. The right to execute power by a Government is determind by its constitution and the law. Suppose the first vice president of Sudan and the president of the Government of Sourhern Sudan Lt.Gen.Salva Kiir Mayardit is now exercising his veto to inform the security council about the CPA implementation,to prove Sudan’s stand as a member of the United Nations.Speaking as a party leader before the security council is not that much higher at representing a state as first vice president.

High five Goss mission in DC. You managed to drive the crazy one to insanity. They never believe you were going to pull that one out. God knows how high NCP would have jumped had they heard our leader succeeded in enlightening the U N Security council. They are used to misleading us to oblivia via our heart-rotten; hand-out reciepients like the so-called ambassador; who is more of a Mr. yes messenger of the NCP. Next time south should demand to lead the hybrid force over Darfur (if not impossible)..it feels good to be the hysterical even for once in a life time. Keep it up.
