South Sudan Salva Kiir urges CPA implementation from Juba

November 19, 2007 (JUBA) — The leader of southern Sudan government returned today to Juba where he was received by a rally organized by the ruling party in Juba. Salva Kiir in a quick speech urged the peace deal implementation

Salva Kiir Mayadrit, who is also the First Vice-President addressed a rally organized by the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) in Juba airport calling, in a brief speech, for the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.

Kiir is expected to hold a close door meeting with his top aides in the SPLM to set the response of the party to statements by Sudanese president Omer al-Bashir who rejected implementation of Abyei protocol and ordered the mobilization of paramilitary forces.

Salva Kiir was in Washington and Nairobi to request the intervention of the US administration and the UN for the full implementation of the CPA. Also in Nairobi he urged the IGAD to work for the implementation of a deal that it brokered.

The spitit of Garang is guiding all this. It is the whole Sudan that he wanted, and it is the whole Sudan we are about to get. Oh,what coward will remain behind this time. Who would not march to Khartoum because of the fear of death, and live a thousand years after as a broken man. On my part, if death is to fine me on the road to Khartoum, then let it come; I fear it not! Let’s meet in Khartoum then.

I urge our leaders to study the speech that was given to the soldiers by the president. the Sudan government thinks that the Sudan people liberation moment is weak, but we southerners know that we are still strong as well as before the agreement. The mind of the president is that, he thinks weaken by the lost Garang, but he has to know that we still have leaders that would follow the grassroots of Dr Garang.

One living thing everyone should put in mind is,there was peace because Abyei protocol was signed and that is why it was concluded as comprehensive peace agreement otherwise it would have carry other name.Dishonouring one peace protocol mean disposal of the whole CPA of which we all expect the real next. The rope is being tightened by the brutal Bashir on his own neck and me with other couragious southerners are waiting to give us the rope so that we can pull. We in the South Sudan stand for what come through our way, should it be peace then we stand for or stand for anything else a part from peace. Training or not training the mujahideen shouldn,t bother us and I urge all youth to be ready like Bashir said, its not SPLA this time round but all who are capable not forgetting the 25 percent of our women.SPLM/A oyeh!!
