Text of report by private Sudanese newspaper Al-Ra’y al-Amm on 23 November

The [former rebel] Sudan People’s Liberation Movement [SPLM] yesterday summoned the proposed minister of cabinet affairs, Dr Lam Akol, the nominee for state minister of justice, Telar Deng, and the former state minister of interior, Alieu Ayang.

Al-Ra’y al-Amm learnt that the three were summoned for questioning over statements they made during the current [SPLM] crisis with the [ruling] National Congress Party.

SPLM sources said these statements did not represent the movement’s position. Akol, Deng and Ayang arrived in Juba yesterday.
