JARCH APPOINTS LARRY C. JOHNSON AS VICE PRESIDENT
I am pleased to announce that Mr. Larry C. Johnson will serve as Vice President of Jarch. Mr. Johnson is in charge of intelligence and security for the Company. He has extensive experience in both the private and public sectors and in both the domestic and international arenas. Mr. Johnson has worked with US military commands in scripting exercises for the Pentagon. In addition, he has previously worked for both the Central Intelligence Agency and the US State Department. Mr. Johnson is an internationally recognized expert on security, as well as crisis and risk management.
Mr. Johnson has been an analyst for a variety of media outlets including Jim Lehrer News Hour, National Public Radio, ABC’s Nightline, NBC’s Today Show, the New York Times, CNN, Fox News, and the BBC. In addition, he has authored several articles for publication including Security Management Magazine, the New York Times, and the Los Angeles Times. He has lectured on security around the world including the Center for Research and Strategic Studies at the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris, France and has represented the US Government at the July 1996 OSCE Terrorism Conference in Vienna, Austria.
During his distinguished career, Mr. Johnson has received training in paramilitary operations, worked in the Directorate of Operations, served in the CIA’s Operation’s Center, and established himself as a prolific analyst in the Directorate of Intelligence. In his final ear with the CIA, he received two Exceptional Performance Awards.
Mr. Johnson is a member of the American Society for Industrial Security. He has taught at the American University’s School of International Service while pursuing a Ph.D. He received his Master’s degree in Community Development from the University of Missouri in 1978 where he also received his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, graduating Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa in 1976.

JARCH APPOINTS DR. J. PETER PHAM AS SENIOR ADVISER
Today, I am pleased to announce that Dr. J. Peter Pham has joined Jarch as its Senior Adviser.
Dr. Pham is an expert on African politics having consulted for both the private and public sectors including the US Government and a number of governments in Africa. He is also the Director of the Nelson Institute for International and Public Affairs at James Madison University. He is the author of over two hundred essays and reviews on a wide variety of subjects in scholarly and opinion journals on both sides of the Atlantic. He is the author, editor, or translator of over a dozen books. Among his recent publications are Liberia: Portrait of a Failed State, Child Soldiers, Adult Interests: Global Dimensions of the Sierra Leonean Tragedy, Africa: Mapping New Boundaries in International Law, and Africa Matters: A Strategy for Winning the New Scramble.
Dr. Pham authors a weekly syndicated column on African security issues, “Strategic Interests,” which is distributed by the World Defense Review, and contributes to a number of online publications, including National Review Online and National Interest Online. He has appeared in various media outlets including CBS News, CBC News, SABC News, VOA News, CNN, the Fox News Channel, MSNBC News, National Public Radio, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Newsweek, and US News & World Report.
Dr. Pham has testified before the US Congress on a number of occasions and conducted briefings or consulted for both Congressional and Executive agencies, including the US Department of State and the US Department of Defense. In 2005, he served as a member of the IRI delegation monitoring the national elections in Liberia and, in 2006, he took part in the pre-election assessment of Nigeria as well as observing the elections there in 2007.
Dr. Pham is an Adjunct Fellow of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, an Adviser of the National Committee on American Foreign Policy, a member of the Editorial Review Board of Human Rights & Human Welfare, and a member of the International Board of Advisors of the Institute on Religion and Public Policy. He is the immediate past Program Chair of the Religion and Politics Division of the American Political Science Association and Vice President of the Association for the Study of the Middle East and Africa.
