    Sudan launches Radio Peace
That is a very good idea Mr. Kirr. But I am wondering, how can this radio peace reach those who do not know English and Arabic, especially our people in the villages? And the poor people who do not have electricity, radio and can not even afford to buy batteries every week or day? If you can also provide them with the accessories and language they need, am sure radio peace will be of a great benefit. And by the way, radio peace alone is not enough, action is need also. Thanks.

The Establishment of Sudan Radio peace or peace Radio is one step forward. We have what we call community centres in various localities across the country or introduce youth centres across the country where these young people will have access to Radio and television broadcasting peace messages.

Not only that civic education lesson has to be introduced in primary schools across the country specifically based on peace. It is the young people that should be targeted. Too many languages and cultures may make it a little difficult ,but that should not stop progress . Emphasis should be put more in the use of English and Arabic as the lingua franca at a national level this way the unity of Sudan will succeed. No forced use of a certain language should be forced on the other. If that does not work then come up with other modalities. It is not a easy road to peace.

Launching of Radio Al-Salaam, or Radio Peace at this particular time has nothing to do with strengthening of the national unity or building of reconciliation among the people of Sudan as this will only give more opportunity to those who think that the National Radio and TV belong to the north, especially Khartoum State.
Why not use both National Radio and TV based in Omdurman for that purpose? Why local languages are not heard on the National Radio which is widely heard all over the Sudan? This is not the time to turn the eyes and ears of the marginalized people away from their national rights.
