Sudanese army newspaper accuses UNITAMS head of spreading terrorism
April 17, 2022 (KHARTOUM) – The editor-in-chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces newspaper Ibrahim al-Houry Sunday accused Western countries of targeting the Sudanese army, and claimed that the head of the UN Political Mission in Sudan (UNITAMS) Volker Perthes was working to spread terrorism in Sudan.
The attacks on Volker take place as UNITAMS, AU and IGAD prepare to launch next week an intra-Sudanese dialogue to restore the transitional civilian government dissolved by the commander-in-chief of the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) last October.
Also, the one-page editorial includes for the first time after the collapse of the former regime a frontal attack on the Western countries accusing them of seeking to dismantle the country and fight Islam, as he said.
At the beginning of the article, Al-Houri slammed former Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok and described him as the “British agent”.
He added that Hamdok sought to dismantle Sudan, with the support of the Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP) David Beasley and the UNITAMS, headed by Perthes.
“(Hamdok) seeks together with the European-American Zionist Masonic lobby through David Beasley, his deputy and the chaos specialist and expert on revitalizing terrorism technology to reproduce the Bremer version of Iraq in Sudan,” he wrote
He further went on to say that they seek to implement “the Libyan model, the massacres of Banqi, Rwanda and Congo, and to reproduce the models of Haftar of Libya in an uglier way in Darfur.”
The Sudanese army officer pointed out that the United States and the European Union countries are targeting, with an immoral approach, the people of Sudan and the military.
“Washington has treated Sudan and the armed forces with a policy that is, to say the least, immoral as if it were an American colony.”
Call for Jihad
On his FaceBook page, the Sudanese army officer is keen to show his religiosity and publishes some Quranic verses or pictures of some Islamic scholars.
Al-Houri who previously called to expel the UNITAMS head from Sudan, this time called to “activate the jihad”.
“Jihad is the pinnacle of Islam. If it is lost, the sanctity of the homeland is lost too”, he wrote.
He added this slogan contains a set of spiritual values, morals, and enthusiasm that the western powers could not buy for their armies, and their leftist agents of the Forces for Freedom and Change (FFC) and the Resistance Committee.
