Ethiopian community established in Sudan

January 29, 2008(ADDIS ABABA) — Ethiopians living in the Sudanese Blue Nile State have formed a community which enables them to follow the objective reality in their country and to ensure other benefits.

Community Chairperson, Mohammed Desalegn, said the forum established last month would create conducive situation for Ethiopians in the Sudan to ensure their rights and benefits as well as discharge national responsibilities.

Besides, it would enable Ethiopians in the Sudan to jointly work with the government and undertake activities that speed up national growth, he indicated.

According to the Chairperson, There are some 1,000 Ethiopians living in Blue Nile State, of which 250 of them are members of the community.

The Ethiopian Embassy in Sudan and the Sudanese Blue Nile State have immensely contributed to the establishment of the community, it was learnt.
