Kuwait to Donate 50 Million in Support of Merowe Dam and Roads in Sudan

Khartoum, Feb. 1 (SUNA) — Chairman of the Kuwaiti Council of State at the Council of Ministers has announced Kuwait support to the implementation of Merowe Dam and maintenance of the national roads in Sudan with 50 million dollars, said the State Minister at the Ministry of Roads and Bridges, Mabrouk Mubarak Saleem, in a telephone call with SUNA. He said that met during his visit to Kuwait with officials there and discussed support of Kuwait to the roads and railways sector in Sudan. The Kuwaiti Minister of Finance affirmed the keenness of Kuwait to continue its support to the developmental infrastructures in Sudan and boosting the cooperation between the two countries in the investment field. Saleem said that Kuwaiti officials whom he met during the visit expressed their desire to sign twinship and cooperation agreements between the Kuwait provinces and the Sudanese Khartoum, Kassala, the Northern and Nahral-Neil States.
