Arman calls on SPLM-N supporters to participate in planned anti-coup protests

June 26, 2022 (KHARTOUM) – The Deputy Head of the SPLM-N, Yasir Arman called on the Movement’s cadres and supporters to participate in the anti-coup demonstrations that  Resistance Committees and the Forces for Freedom and Change (FFC) plan to hold on June 30.

On Sunday, Arman held a meeting with leaders of the SPLM-N sections in Khartoum state where he spoke about the current political situation in Sudan and the New Sudan’s vision pour peace justice and equal citizenship.

“We must stand with the revolution and actively participate in the June 30 demonstrations, mobilize all our cadres and masses, and raise our flag in the rallies,” he said.

The deputy leader further pointed out that the SPLM-N stands by the revolution, and its future is with the revolution; In reference to the protests led by the resistance committees against the ruling army leaders.

Arman steadily repeats that the Juba Peace Agreement was designed to complete the transition and that the agreement has no value without the democratic process.

On June 30, 2019, millions of Sudanese took to the streets to voice their rejection of the military rule and support the FFC call to hand over power to a civilian government. Following what the Transitional Military Council negotiated the Constitutional Declaration of August 17, 2019.

Arman who was among the FFC leaders detained after the coup has been actively engaged alongside the FFC groups calling to restore the civilian government the military toppled down on October 25, 2021.

Earlier this month on June 8, Arman denounced statements by the SPLM-N’s leader, Malik Agar, who described the anti-coup protests as “chaos and terrorism against the state.”

Agar who is a member of the military-led Sovereign Council since has left the capital for the Blue Nile state where he is residing with his troops.
