Subject: Failure of the GOSS and the Unity State Government to announce and react to the death of three Ruweng Chiefs and four soldiers at Biemnom and Abyei border.

Although the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) has been signed thoroughly and successfully pledging the desperate Sudanese citizens particularly the Southern Sudanese people to bring lasting peace and stability to the country, innocents folks are still dying as the enemy of peace is still committing atrocities.

The Unity State and the Government of Southern Sudan (GOSS) should alert the media for the perilous threats that are caused by Sudan Army Force (SAF) intruding our State and inevitably may tear it asunder.

The recent murder plot that was executed by SAF and appallingly took lives of three Ruweng Chiefs and four soldiers has made Ruweng people feel alienated by the GOSS and the Unity State government due to their failure to respond simultaneously to the catastrophe in Biemnom County. Consequently, the SAF and Arab Militias will see Biemnom County as an open gate and vulnerable. If our government keeps ignoring and failing to take action to resolve border tragedies, it may spread to the neighbouring counties such as Panrieng, Rubkona, Mayom, Abyei and Aweil.

The Ruweng Diaspora is delivering this message as a wake up call to the GOSS to investigate Biemnom carnage and prevent it from happening again whether in Biemnom or in any of the aforementioned counties.

The Ruweng people in Diaspora is writing this petition letter to the GOSS and the Unity State government to send a crew that will share condolence with the mourning people in Biemnom and form an investigation committee to find the perpetrators. Finally, the GOSS and the Unity State government must take solid preventative measurements to solve the insecurity in the areas bordering with the North.

The undersigned are the members of the Ruweng Biemnom Association in the Diaspora:

Wuor Lual Kiir (Vice Chairman)
