Ethiopia, Eritrea can ably resolve border conflict peacefully: Museveni
KAMPALA, Feb 18, 2004 (Xinhua) — Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has said Ethiopia and Eritrea are two sister countries, which can ably resolve their border conflict peacefully and quickly.
Museveni made the remarks on Tuesday when he received the outgoing Ethiopian ambassador to Uganda Cham Ugala Uriat, who called on him in Kampala, according to a press release issued by the State House on Wednesday.
Museveni said the Horn of Africa is a very important region of the continent, which should look into the possibility of integrating.
The Ethiopian ambassador, who has now been posted to Ghana, thanked Museveni for the hospitality given to him during his term of office in Uganda, saying that he has had the privilege to learn about Uganda’s successes, especially in the Universal Primary Education and the fight against HIV/AIDS.
