Sudanese and visiting Iranian delegations on March 4 started talks on military cooperation between the two countries in order to bolster bilateral military relations. The two countries started talks on military cooperation in January 2007.

The two countries signed an agreement on cooperation in the fields of technology, education, science, industry and exchange of expert delegations as well as establishment of military cooperation commission.

The agreement was signed by Iran’s Defence Minister Mustafa Mohamed Najjar and his Sudanese counterpart Abdelrahim Mohamed Hussein.

The two sides underlined development and consolidation of defensive ties between Iran and Sudan and called it an important step toward strengthening peace, stability and security in the region and international arena.

Abdulrahim in a joint press conference with Iranian Minister of Defence today Friendship Hall said that the visit of Iranian Minister is a chance to push the relations of cooperation between the two countries to advanced prospects particularly in the areas of technology and science pointing to the distinguished political relations between Khartoum and Tehran

In response to a question about Sudan’s importation of weapons, Abdelrahim said: “There is no [UN] decision to ban Sudan from importing armament, we import weapons from all countries except Western countries.”

The UN resolution 1591 issued by the UN Security Council imposes arms embargo on Darfur region. A panel of experts in April 2007 recommends that the Security Council expand the arms embargo to the entire territory of the Sudan.

Najjar said, “Expansion of ties with Islamic and African countries, especially brotherly and friendly country of Sudan, is on top of Iran’s foreign policy agenda.

“Iran supports independence and sovereignty of Sudan and condemns enemies interferences in domestic affairs of the country and expresses its readiness for cooperation in different fields,” he concluded.

I personally condemn that kind of pathetic relationship with the strongest possible terms. Iran is a ground bottom of Islamic fundamentalist like Hamas, IsbaLah and all those terrorist such as Al qaeda, and its relationship to Sudan send unmeasurable distress to lot of people, especially Southerners, westerners and easterners.

Iran need to solve its problem before lingering around from region to region in an attempt to spread its terrorist ambitions.

Yet, I hope the United Nations, United State and European union step up its arms embargo against Sudan to stem Sudan from importing millions of dangerous weapons for killing, maiming and destroying innocent lives.

Secondly, Sudan should develop some respect to the GoSS by consulting SPLA/GoSS about whatever the move the country want to undergo, because the country is not longer theirs alone as it used to be decades ago. Bashir should not lie Arab world that, Sudan is Islamic nation or one of arab world countries since that is very impossible in human immigination.

I hope Khartoum isolate itself from Iran for now.

    God bless.

    Mr defend minister
those weapons will not fire themselves if you are extending to Iran for chemicals and biological weapons to destroyed the marginalized people in Sudan. God knows, why the CPA is not progressing because of chemicals and biologicals weapons that are being aquires from Iran. If you don’t want to loss your position of Defend than better to let Bashir implmented the CPA as agree. The only thing Iam worried is the naive of mr kiir as leader of southern sudan. He would have pressure the rigime to either implement the peace or face another war.

The agreement between NCP and Iran is nothing but double standard–it is strategically important for SPLM to learn how to counter in timely manner.

I knew Sudan would be the first country to sign military deal with Iran. When Saddam Hussein was in power, Sudan relied on him, thinking that Iraq was the superpower in the Arab world. They got surprised when Iraq was invaded within three weeks by the real superpowers.

Now they are running to Iran, thinking that Iran will be Arab superpower, but they will regreet it.

What I really don’t like about my brothers and sisters in Northern Sudan is that they regard themselves as Arabs, forgetting that they are now part of Africa. If they think that they are still Arabs, then what are they doing in the land of the Black, or don’t they know the meaning of Sudan?

The so-called Arabs and Muslims in Sudan are among the dangerous people in the world. They say that they want the land in Sudan but not the people. That was the reason why they released not even a single Prisoner of War after the signing of the CPA, making the people they used to call rebels appeared to be the keepers of Human Rights when they released thausands of Prisoners of War from Northern Sudan.

Now, if these Arabs and Muslims in Sudan get the chance to put their hands on a nuclear weapon, they can destroy the whole world, including themselves. Don’t you see how they react to things that do not even bother Saudi Arabia where the shrine of Islam is,thinking that they are the real defenders of Prophet Mohammed! Who do they think they are?

We the people of South Sudan are not giving up even if somebody acquired the nuclear bomb. We will die together with them. They are pushing us to separation and we will accept it. Then we will see what they will do. We are not Muslims, but we love Muslims. If they want to keep on with their stupidity, we will let them stay alone and be stupid in their own nation.

It is clear what NCP is up to. No doubt dealing with Implementation of treaties with the isolated countyies like Iran is important to NCP.
It failed and continue to fail to implement CPA but talks of making military cooperation agreement. I can’t understand, is the agreement for the county or to only NCP? And if so, why no other parties involed? This is no doubt, a clear indication that NCP is going against the tide, towards somthing dangerous to the citizens of The Sudan as well.
Let the president be informed that marginalized yet to unite against the your government in Khartuom and the whole country is going to hear their voices. You better secure the military cooperation within the country before hand.
