Egypt’s agriculture minister visits Sudan

March 10, 2008 (KHARTOUM) — Egyptian Minister of Agriculture tomorrow will pay a visit to Sudan, heading a high ranking delegation. He will hold discussion on joint cooperation and agricultural investment opportunities in the country

Amin Abaza, the Egyptian Minister of Agriculture is expected to arrive to Khartoum on Tuesday morning at the head of a high-level delegation comprising a number of Egyptian investors

The visiting Egyptian minister will discuss with his Sudanese counterpart Zubair Bashir Taha, ways of boosting agricultural relations between the two countries as well as the progress so far has been achieved in the implementation of the joint projects.

In addition they will explore investment opportunities between Sudan and Egypt. The Egyptian delegation will visit the Gezira Scheme to see the agricultural investment opportunities in Gezira State.

At the same time, Sudanese executive agencies held today at the Friendship Hall a meeting with Egyptian Federation of Employers. Addressing the meeting Zubair Bashir Taha, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, explained that the visit of the Egyptian delegation comes while the Sudan is witnessing visible development and stability in its economic infrastructures.

It also coincides with the start of the executive programme of agricultural development, the broad interest of the state and activation of joint investment projects; the minister said

He pointed out that the investment companies are welcomed because they constitute a good opportunity to activate and strengthen these partnerships and can benefit from the agreements signed between the two countries in the field of protection of investments
