Sudanese lawmakers visit India
March 22, 2008 (NEW DELHI) — A Sudanese delegation from the upper house visits in India to study the parliamentary system in this federal state.
A five-member Sudanese Parliamentary delegation, led by the Deputy Speaker of the Sudanese Council of States (Senate) came on a study visit to the Bureau of Parliamentary Studies and Training (BPST) of the Lok Sabha secretariat here last Thursday.
During the visit, the Sudanese delegation held meetings with the Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha, K Rahman Khan and the Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha Charnjit Singh Atwal, according to a press release.
The delegation also had interactions with Ms Margaret Alva, honorary Advisor, BPST, Mohammad Salim MP, Rupchand Pal MP and the Secretary General Lok Sabha P D T Achary.
The visiting delegation also visited the Parliamentary Museum in the Parliament House.
