Dubai, Khartoum bourses to explore dual-listings
March 23, 2008 (DUBAI) — Dubai Financial Market said on Sunday it agreed with the Khartoum stock exchange to encourage dual-listings of securities.
“The agreement aims to facilitate and encourage dual-listing between the two markets and encourage cooperation of their brokerage companies,” Essa Kazem, chairman of DFM’s parent company Borse Dubai said in a statement on the bourse Web site.
The agreement includes the exchange of information and technology, expertise and training between the two sides.
Esam El Zein Al-Mahi Director-General of Khartoum market for securities said that the agreement came a prelude to the inclusion of Khartoum Bank in Dubai Financial Market.
The Khartoum Stock Exchange Market is considered as a growing financial market and attracting outstanding inclusions; it also contains 52 listed company with a market value estimated at about 5 billion dollars.
