Aim of the training is to build the capacity of local journalists to air balanced and unbiased reports before, during or after election.

“Journalists must air election reports based on election laws and regulations” Director of the association Solomon Haile said.

According to Solomon, election reports could ignite conflict and lead to disaster if reports are done beyond the election rules and as the wishes of media people.

Some 26 million voters, 4.5 candidates and 30 political parties will take part in the local and national by election to be held next month.
