Sudanese-Ukrainian sides hold talks on economic cooperation

KHARTOUM, Feb 23, 2004 (Sudan Tribune) — The visiting Ukrainian delegation held yesterday evening talks on economic cooperation with Sudanese officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The foreign state minister, Najib al-Khayr AbdalWahhab, chaired the Sudanese side while the first deputy Prime Minister, Oleksandr Zinchenko, chaired the Ukrainian side.

The talks dealt on ways of strengthening economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, in addition to possibility of signing an agreement on trade and economy, and encouragement of safeguarding investment.

The Sudanese side included representatives from the ministries of foreign affairs, electricity, higher education and foreign trade. The Ukrainian side included, Ukrainian ambassador in Khartoum, parliamentary delegation, ministries and private sector representatives, as well as honorary counsel in Sudan.

The Ukrainian delegation arrived to Khartoum on Saturday 21 February evening. The delegation comprises representatives for the public and private sectors.
