In a separate development, the scheduled signing of final peace deal between Uganda government and LRA on 3rd April this month has been postponed to 10th April 2008 to enable Kony to sign his part at Riikwbwa, western equatorial state while the government of Uganda team will sign on 15th April in Juba the capital of southern sudan, the spokesman David Mastanga has revealed. According to him there was inadequate arrangement made at the side of signing the peace that has no sanitary system.

A leader from the [ruling] National Congress [NC] in charge of the Abyei dossier, Al-Dirdiri Mohamed Ahmad, has revealed that the NC received assurance from the first vice-president of the republic and head of [Sudan] People’s [Liberation] Movement [SPLM], Gen Salva Kiir Mayardit, and its secretary-general Pagan Amum, that they did not support the step made by one of the SPLM leaders, Edward Lino [of announcing an administration for the area].
In a statement to SMC, Al-Dirdiri said the information was not enough and should be supported by an official announcement by the SPLM or else the NC would hold the SPLM responsible for the establishment of this administration which is a gross violation of the peace agreement and the conventions of partnership.
The official announcement required by the SPLM must be followed by practical steps on the ground where the SPLM agrees to cooperate with the NC in dissolving this administration, similar to the dissolving of the camps which previously belonged to the movement in Al-Dubab and Abu-Matariq regions.
Al-Dirdiri further said if the movement maintained silence and supported what was going on, then it would be tantamount to infringement on the powers of the presidency of which does not give any political party the right to do so even if it was part of the leadership. It would also be a withdrawal from implementing the Abyei Protocol which has become part of the constitution. Hence, the NC should continue implementing [the Abyei protocol] even if the SPLM did not do so, in accordance with to 1905 boundaries state stated in the protocol.
Al-Dirdiri further stressed that the NC was no longer committed to any joint effort or negotiation over implementing the Abyei Protocol until the SPLM officially declares the dissolution of the administration.
