Khartoum reiterates it will host conference on war-torn Darfur

KHARTOUM, Feb 23 (QNA) — The Sudanese government has reiterated its sticking to Khartoum as the place for hosting the proposed national comprehensive conference to discuss Darfur conflict.

It also renewed its call of those fighting to attend the conference with a view of the security guarantees which have been provided to all participants.

The Secretary-general of the ruling National Congress, Ibrahim Ahmad Omar asked the rebels to abandon their call for the holding of the said conference in Jabal Marra, western Sudan.

He said the comprehensive conference will be held in Khartoum.

He hoped that the rebels will attend the conference in order to solve all the issues and normalize life in the region.
