Libya invites Sudan’s Salva Kiir to visit Tripoli
April 1, 2008 (KHARTOUM) — Libya has extended an invitation to visit it to the Sudanese First Vice-President and President of the Government of Southern Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, to discuss South Sudan development.
The Libyan Foreign Minister, Abdel-Rahman Shulgam, conveyed the invitation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Deng Alor, during their meeting in Damascus on the sidelines of the Arab summit.
Deng Alor said that the invitation aims to discuss the issue of development and investment, adding that the meeting also tackled bilateral relations.
The minister pointed out that he held meetings with a number of foreign ministers on the fringes of the summit, including the Yemeni Foreign Minister and the State Minister for Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar and discussed the bilateral relations between Sudan and their countries.
