Ethiopia: 3 killed in Addis Ababa blasts

April 15, 2008 (Ethiopia) — Twin bomb blasts at the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, left 3 people dead and another 18 injured. The federal security forces command post disclosed.
The attacks came one day after Ethiopia successfully winds up the local and by elections across the nation where 26 million voters took part.
The first bomb went off on Monday at 12:30 pm at a gas station located in Gergi neighborhood leaving two people dead and another 9 injured.
The second bomb blast occurred same day on a similar time at a gas station at Megenaga sub town.
Two died after they were managed to reach in hospital. It was learnt. The other victims are under serious treatment in nearby hospitals.
All the causalities are innocent civilians who were lined up to buy kerosene. Police said.
No clue is yet discovered by the police on who could be behind the attacks; but Addis police has launched an intensive investigation at every corner of the city to hunt down the perpetrators and master minds of the attack.
Following the attacks the government of Ethiopia said the attack is nothing but the act of the desperate who are dying to obstruct the efforts of the nation to build up democracy.
Ethiopia has been accusing arch-foe Eritrea and a rebel group, The Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF) for the recent attacks inside the nation.
