SPLM boycotts census in south Kordofan

The SPLM has boycotted the population census in south Kordofan state. A statement from the movement Miraya FM received a copy the SPLM said the reasons for the action are the insecurity in the state, lack of proper representation of the movement in the state census institutions, boarder demarcation; census forms are only in Arabic language and none –reactivation of efforts for the voluntary return.
The statement was signed by the SPLM chairman in south Kordofan state and the deputy state governor Daniel Koddi.
Census began in the state municipalities only in Kowda and Jaluod Municipality and in surrounding villages where the SPLM members refused to take part in the census. The Fifth population census started all over Sudan in today’s early morning.
