The UNAMID further condemned attacks against civilians, urging all parties to adhere to international humanitarian laws, which prohibit military attacks against civilians. It added that a fact finding mission is probing the attacks on the ground.

The peacekeeping mission said that Sudan Liberation Army controlled area, north east of Kutum, had “witnessed repeated aerial attacks and possible fighting between government and rebel forces during the course of the last few days.” The Sudanese army had denied rebel reports about these attacks at that time.

The mission said it had organised an operation to air-lift wounded civilians, following SAF air attacks on the village of Umm Sidir in North Darfur, yesterday. The evacuation was conducted at the request of humanitarian organizations and in coordination with Sudanese authorities.

A UNAMID medical team was flown to the village of Umm Sidir, this morning, to provide initial medical care to victims of the attack two of whom in a critical condition. In El Hashim and Heles, one woman was killed, while property and live-stock were destroyed.

According to a press statement issued today two men were killed and eight are seriously injured.

The wounded were flown by the UNAMID forces, to El Fasher where they were admitted to hospital. One man, who has suffered severe head injuries from shrapnel, is said to be in a critical condition, another is awaiting surgery. The other men are in a stable condition.

UN experts estimate some 300,000 people have died and 2.5 million driven from their homes. Sudan blames the Western media for exaggerating the conflict and puts the death toll at 10,000.

Peacekeeping mission says Sudan attacked Darfur civilians
NIF Racist regime in Khartoum will never lose a minute to stop killing civillians in Darfur and other parts of Sudan leave alone adhering to International Humanitarian Laws. I have no idea about the objectives of sending UNAMID forces to Darfur, this because there is no Peace to keep there. There is only one side killing and wipping out civillian population of Darfur and that is the NIF regime. Should UNAMID cry for civillians prtection to come from whom? Does UNAMID expect the protection of innocent civillians come from the regime that’s killing them or from UNAMID itself which failed to provide necessary protection? Stop crying like those unarmed Darfurians and apply military No-Fly Zone over Darfur Villages or get out of Darfur because crying and apeasing a brutal regime in Khartoum is not a good reason to be there. This UNAMID is the worst system ever a UN has in its history. Who can ever believe that a Genocide is being carried out in the very eye of UN and does nothing to stop it and bring those comitting it to face justice.

May God united Darfuris fighters under one command and join hands together and fight for their people survival and freedom. That’s the only force that will stop NIF racist regime culture of killing.
