Curfew re-imposed in Sudan’s city of Omdurman
May 12, 2008 (KHARTOUM) – Sudanese minister of Interior, Ibrahim Mahmoud Hamid, Monday issued a new decree imposing the curfew in Khartoum’s twin city of Omdurman.
Police spokesperson told the Sudanese radio that the curfew is re-imposed because some rebels infiltrated some Omdurman neighbourhoods.
Gen Mohamed Abdel-Majid al-Tayeb further added that the situation in the other parts of the capital is calm.
The leader of Darfur JEM ,Khalid Ibrahim, told the BBC radio and Reuters he was speaking from Omdurman.
The Interior ministry spokesperson wasn’t able to say when the curfew will be left.
