Darfur rebel leader makes his way out of Khartoum – Sudan
May 12, 2008 (KHARTOUM) — Sudan has said today that the fugitive Darfur rebel leader makes his way out of the capital.
Sudanese defense minister Abdel-Rahim Mohamed Hussein told the official SUNA that Khalil Ibrahim the leader of the Justice and Equality Movement is out of the Kartoum’s twin city of Omdurman.
Hussein further said that Sudanese troops are tracking Khalil Ibrahim in the north-western corner of North Darfur State.
This statement puts an end to the ongoing speculations by the different government organs on the whereabouts of Ibrahim.
