SPLM convention to begin on May 15
May 13, 2008 (KHARTOUM) — James Wani Egga, the Chairman of the second convention organizing committee announced Tuesday the opening of the SPLM convention on Thursday May 15.
The SPLM convention was scheduled to begin on May 11, but it was postponed due to the Justice and Equality attack on Khartoum’s twin city of Omdurman on May 10.
Egga told the Sudanese TV that the SPLM Interim National Council prepared most of the amendments related to the manifesto of the party and its constitution.
More that 1500 delegates from the 26 Sudanese states are in Juba since last week to take part in the convention under the slogan «No to war, yes to the New Sudan».
Following the postponement some voices within the SPLM Interim Council had suggested to adjourn to convention to June.

Bravo million times to the SPLM Interim National Council (INC) and Yaba Wani Igga for that schedule. We party members need to see this SPLM convention finish as soon as possible because our cadres have somethings to do besides SPLM National Convention. The INC did a great job by amending SPLM manifesto and constitution in time.

Dear readers,
I am delighted of the nature of Democratic being exercised by our people in Juba but sad for Dr Riak Machar Teny who want to stand for leadership of the Party which he had abundent in 1992 and resort to the killing of innocent Dinkas specially Bor community.Can he think of leading orphans and widows he had killed their parents and husbands/wives in 1992-2002.

you are a right person to stand for leadership of the party but can you go back to start from your people to elect you first and then come for SPLM leadership at the Southern level you have shamed us and your fathers vision for Southerners for you had deserted the nation of whom your beloved father died for. we need you because you never killed anyone in the south like your father did but never show the signs of a coward man again. we will support you if you have the correct start.also take care SPLM of today is harbouring terrorist who kill people who love peace like your father.
