May 14, 2008 (KHARTOUM) — A delegation from the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) led by Deputy Chiefs of Staff for Administration, Maj. General Salva Mathok Geng congratulated the Sudan Armed Forces for foiling successfully Darfur rebel attack on the Sudanese capital.

The delegation which met by Sudanese defence minister Gen Abde-Rahim Hussein today in Khartoum, also announced SPLA readiness to defend the country for the sack of the implementation of the 2005 peace agreement.

The delegation was received by the defense minister in presence of Gen Mohamed Abdel-Gadir Nasr-Eddin, the Chief of the Joint Staff.

During a briefing to the Sudanese parliament on Tuesday Gen Hussein told the legislators that SPLA troops participated in military operations to secure the capital after the foiled rebel attack on May 10.

These forces helped to lock Jebel Awliya bridge [25 miles south of Khartoum] and the raod of al-Qitayna –Jebel Awliya.” Abdel-Rahim said.

A TIT FOR TAT GAME IS NOT ACCEPTED, MR. PRESIDENT
Please, stop this stupid notion of defending Khartoum and CPA. CPA is nothing to Arabs, they can simply disregard it in any ozero hour as the did to Adis-Ababa Agreement, and guess what! they are slow in implementing CPA so they fine a way they can flash into a sewage like a toilet paper. A wise leader always has option A and B on the table when one fails one succeeds. So Mr. Salva Kiir you got to have a gun and bible on the table.

Please, do not ruin our long term brotherhood with Durfurians, they were misleaded in fighting and killing their brothers in the South but now is a time they have realised the fact and we therefore need to forgive them and stand by their side if not impossible. We can not just turn a blind eye on them simply because of their beliefs and the notion they were used against us by Khartoum during civil war in Southern Sudan. So why are you not turning a blind eye on Khartoum and yet it was the one using them against? Think again before incipient of the day, Mr. Kiir

we are not and will never be a nation that replies or answers others with tit for tat. We need to reflect the fact that they are our brothers even thought they were used against us. The conflict in Durfur does not based primarily on locations, beliefs but on race. Mr. Kiir, are you really standing on your own feet? Remember what you had said last time or a few months ago that the SPLA/M would be committed to solving Durfur crisis peacefully. So are really standing by your words? Stop lying to the international communities if you can’t respect your own words. I thought you would not take a side but to remain a neutral solution at all to either side. The world will fear us as stated clearly in the Bible but we can not express or portray it like this. May God keep his blessing in our country now and forever?
