May 22, 2008 (CAIRO) – There are strong pressures to not invite the Justice and Equality Movement to take part in a security arrangement meeting that will be organised by the Darfur mediation, the Arab League said.

Following an attack on the Sudanese capital on May 10, Sudanese president Omer al-Bashir has declared JEM as terrorist group and said Khartoum government would not hold peace talks with the group.

The head of Arab-African cooperation service in the Arab League, Samir Hosni told the Egyptian MENA that there are international pressures to not invite JEM to participate in any talks on Darfur after its attack on Khartoum’s twin city of Omdurman.

Hosni was speaking about a meeting that Darfur mediators plan to hold in Geneva on the security arrangements in Darfur.

Sudanese officials accused Chad on instigating, and financing JEM coup on the capital. President Omer al-Bashir after the attack described JEM as “traitors” adding “we will not negotiate with Khalil Ibrahim.”

Egyptian government expelled JEM and SLM representatives from the country, in unprecedented move against Sudanese opposition groups.

Khalil Ibrahim, JEM chairman, told Sudan Tribune this week that his movement will not negotiate with the government because it was not serious about peace. He further reiterated his determination to bring about a regime change in Sudan.

Khalil also criticised the international community saying it is not serious in pressurizing Khartoum to seek a comprehensive settlement in Darfur.

Arab League speaks about pressures to exclude JEM from Darfur talks
The Arab League is only kissing up to Al Bashir. If Al Bashir and Co did not mistreat to population in the frist pplace, there would be no war, no rebels and the Arab League would not be taking about excluding anyone.

The governement in Khartoum is reponsible for the death and suffering of thousands of little childern. How many parents have buried their little ones. Does the Arab League think that that all those people who have buried their childern, their parents, their bothers and seen their sisters and mothers raped, will just forgive and forget.

Al Bashir and yes his friends have planted the seed of hatered in Darfur, in Southern Sudan, in the Nuba Mountains and in the Blue Nile region.

The people of Sudan have suffered enough.

Arab League speaks about pressures to exclude JEM from Darfur talks
Who gave Arab league the right to decide who will attend peace talks and who will not? Arab league is an irrelevent organisation that has failed for years to solve their own Arabs problems in palestine, Irag, lebanon and others,Arabs needs to focus on fighting terrorism that is infecting the world from their countries. Let them stay away from the Darfur issue if they want real peace.
There will be no real peace in Darfur and North Sudan without JEM involvement,JEM is now the major rebel group in Darfur, they have Islamic ties but so do the NCP of el bahir. Any stupid move to exclude JEM by Arabs will be opposed by African Union.
Also Arab league need to condemn the killing of Africans by the Sudan Arab government, Arab league need to condemn the detention and torture or Darfur citizens in Sudan capital Khartoum which is ruled by Arab racism. It has to condemn both sides not just one side, this is Arab hypocrisy. Arab league is already dead organization but still walking.
