UAE, South Sudan officials discuss bilateral relations

April 10, 2023 (ABU DHABI) – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister for Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and South Sudan’s acting Foreign Affairs minister, Deng Dau discussed the bilateral relations between their countries and ways to boost cooperation in various areas.

The meeting occurred at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation headquarters in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi on Monday.

During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to support South Sudan in achieving peace, stability as well as development.

The official also emphasized the strong ties between the UAE and South Sudan and the Emirates’ eagerness to invest in opportunities that can promote partnerships between the two nations across the different sectors.

For his part, Dau expressed his gratitude for the UAE’s support and highlighted the depth of the bilateral relations between the two countries.

He said South Sudan is interested in strengthening cooperation at all levels.

The UAE’s Minister of State, Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan was also in attendance.

In February last year, South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir and his delegation travelled to Dubai and held several bilateral and business talks there.
