Sudanese official to visit France in June for talks on Darfur
May 29, 2008 (KHARTOUM) — Sudanese presidential Adviser will visit Paris during the upcoming June for discussion on French role in the resolution of Darfur crisis, the official SUNA report yesterday.
Mustafa Osman Ismail will begin an official visit to France in June to discuss French contribution to end the ongoing crisis in Darfur. SUNA further said that the presidential adviser will discuss the Chadian support to the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM).
The official agency didn’t give the exact date of the visit.
JEM carried on May 10 an attack on the Sudanese capital. Following the foiled coup Sudan accused Chad of supporting the rebel attack and broke off ties with Chad.
The French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner extended the invitation to the Sudanese official during a meeting held on the sideline of the sworn in ceremony of the Lebanese President Michel Suleiman in Beirut on May 25.
Sudan launched several insinuated-accusations against France saying it provided satellite photos to the rebels despite the denial of the French Ambassador in Khartoum.
