Saudi agriculture minister to visit Sudan today

KHARTOUM, Feb 29, 2004 (SUNA) — The Saudi Minister of Agriculture, Dr Fahd Bin-Abd-al-Rahman, accompanied by a big Saudi investment delegation, is to arrive in the country on Monday 1 March on an official four-day visit to Sudan during which he is to hold talks with the officials in the state.

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Dr Majdhub al-Khalifah said in a statement to Suna that the visit of the Saudi delegation comes as part of the efforts being made by the leaderships of the two countries to boost the bilateral relations, and to review means of cooperation in the agricultural field.

He added that the visit is an opportunity for the Saudi investors to get acquainted with Sudan’s investment potentials. Dr Al-Khalifah, further, said that a joint meeting is to be held between the Sudanese and Saudi sides to discuss the agricultural agreement.

The delegation will meet director of the Arab Organization for Agriculture Development and hold symposia at the Sudanese Businessmen Federation premises. At the end of the visit, the two sides are to hold a session of talks at the Friendship Hall to sign the agricultural cooperation agreement between the two countries.
