S. Sudan’s Kiir invited for Saudi-African summit in November
August 2, 2023 (JUBA) – South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir has received an invitation for the Saudi-African summit scheduled for November this year.
The invitation from the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Bin Salman was delivered to South Sudan’s leader by his advisor Ahmed Kattan on Wednesday.
Kattan also urged South Sudan to support the kingdom’s bid to host the 2030 Expo.
The Saudi Arabian official further disclosed that his country is working to open an embassy in Juba to further strengthen the relations between the two countries.
For his part, South Sudan’s Acting Foreign Affairs minister, Deng Dau Deng said South Sudan is ready to attend the summit and back Saudi Arabia’s bid to host Expo 2030.
