Arab League chief to visit Sudan for talks on Darfur, CPA
June 23, 2008 (CAIRO) — The Secretary General of Arab League Amr Musa plans to visit Sudan soon for talks on Darfur latest developments as well as to follow the Comprehensive Peace after the signing of Ayei roadmap agreement.
Arab League envoy on Sudan, Ambassador Salah Halima said yesterday that he handed a message in this regard from Musa to the Sudanese Foreign Minister Deng Alor
Halim added that Musa — during his visit to Sudan — will visit a number of important sites in Darfur, Juba and Khartoum aimed at maximizing the role of the Arab League in the areas of political, humanitarian and reconstruction of Sudan.
The Arab League envoy is currently visiting Sudan to hold talks with the Sudanese officials to arrange the visit and hold talks with representatives of regional and international organizations in Sudan.
The Secretary General during his visit to Darfur will lay the cornerstone for a number of development projects for the rehabilitation of Darfur.
Abdelrahman Musa Abakar, the state minister at the Ministry of cabinet affairs discussed last March in Cairo a number of projects that the Arab League implement in Darfur as the Arab donors had pledged to develop the troubled region in October 2007.
The Arab League had collected some 250 million USD for Darfur. Also a Sudan and Arab League delegation had to visit Arab countries to discuss ways of carrying out financial pledges to Darfur.

Please Arab League Chief,that is agood news to visit Sudan particularly Darfur as it is first in your agenda.Iwould like also to advice you that Dafure people do not need only the collections from Arabs world,but they also need you to stop their killings by Bin Laden friends.The facts remind true that one time Bin Laden was in Sudan killing Southern Sudanese in Juba and Khartoum itself.
Lastly ,please stop your being double standard,this time show that arabs world are not happy with the government of Sudan’s policies of killing black muslim in Dafure like what they did in South Sudan.
Iam some how happy with the initiative, but after the talk I would find the reality which would now convince me to more happiness.

In such situations like what which is happening in Darfur, any initiative is welcome to look for ways of how these issues in Darfur can be solve.
But people should move when they have the will to do that, not only to show the world that they are trying hurt to do something after being accused of doing nothing. Why I said this was because there are now adays many calls rised by world leaders and the international community for the Arab and Muslim world to try to bring their effords to solve the issues in Darfur.
My message to the visiting SG is that, now Darfur is in great need of security though some humanitarian projects have to be in place to help the displaced. Let the Arab world seek the security part of the problem more than the development one for now.You can not do any development project without laying the ground save and not insecure.
The Arab league also have to be a neutral body if it is really willing to bring peace to Darfur.Because the Arableague can not condemned the invasion of JEM when they attacked Khartoum while not condemning the Goverment of the atrocities in Darfur, unless they are only standing by the the NCP or Northerners but not Darfur.
I for one is not confident of the Arab league to do something in Darfur regarding peace leave alone in the Arab world where are problems whether in Palestine,Lebanone etc.
Let the Arab league SG come with specific issues to focus on not only visiting Darfur for formality that they are doing something and go back to Egypt to write a report which is to be placed in the drawer and that’s all.
May the Almighty bring peace to Darfur
