Al-Burhan embarks on official visit to Eritrea

On November 10, 2023 (KHARTOUM) – The Chairman of the Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, departed for the Eritrean capital, Asmara, on an official visit.

In this fourth travel outside Sudan since August 29, the head of the Sovereign Council will engage in discussions with Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki, focusing on the bilateral relations between the two countries, ways to enhance them, and issues of mutual interest, said a statement announcing the visit.

Lieutenant General Mohamed al-Ghali Ali Youssif, Secretary-General of the Sovereign Council, along with several ministers, bid him farewell at Port Sudan International Airport.

Al-Burhan is accompanied on this visit by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ali al-Sadiq, and the Director of the General Intelligence Service, Lt Gen Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal.
