October 11, 2023 (JUBA) – The Turkish government has provided assorted uniforms to the South Sudanese People’s Defence Forces (SSPDF) as part of efforts to expedite the implementation of the security arrangement provisions in the 2018 peace agreement.

218, 693 sets of different types of uniforms were received, he said in a statement.

“The Turkish government has given different sets of uniforms. Some of these sets are uniforms for battle camouflage, including airforce and mess dresses to be distributed to the necessary unified forces in 17 centres across the country,” explained Koang.

The Chief of Staff, Gen. Santino Deng Wol, among other officers, received the uniforms.

According to the SSPDF spokesperson, some of the uniform sets would be reserved for soldiers expected to report for training in the second phase of the security arrangement.
