Sudan, Uganda renew military protocol for three months
KHARTOUM, Mar 05, 2004 (Sudan Tribune) — The Sudanese and Ugandan governments yesterday renewed the protocol of military cooperation for a three-month period, starting from March until 31 May.
A statement issued yesterday by the General Command of the Armed Forces said the defence minister, General Bakri Hasan Salih, and his Ugandan counterpart Amama Mbabazi discussed the bilateral military ties and ways to improve peace and security in the two countries.
The statement added that the protocol of military cooperation between the two countries was renewed during the meeting.
The President Omar al-Beshir, has commended the distinguished ties between Sudan and Uganda and stressed the need to take necessary measures to bring about security and stability along the two countries’ border.
Al-Bashir sent condolences to President Museveni and Uganda for the 200 people massacred by the LRA rebels at Barlonyo on 22 February.
