Three Sudanese killed in attack in Iraq

FALLUJAH, Iraq, Mar 08, 2004 (dpa) — Three Sudanese men carrying supplies for the U.S. military in Fallujah were killed Monday and three others wounded when unknown assailants attacked them, witnesses told Deutsche Presse- Agentur dpa.

The witnesses said armed men attacked the civilian cars carrying supplies to the U.S. army in Fallujah, 70 kilometres west of Baghdad. They added the three Sudanese who were killed were driving the cars.

In Baghdad, at least three Iraqis were wounded in an explosion near a police station near downtown Baghdad, witnesses told dpa. It was not clear whether the injured were police or civilians.

The explosion took place in a neighbourhood that lies about 2 kilometres away from the U.S. administration and Iraqi Governing Council headquarters where a signing ceremony for a new constitution was taking place.
