KHARTOUM, Mar 08, 2004 (Sudan Tribune) — The deputy chairman of the executive committee of the opposition Eritrean Liberation Front – Revolutionary Council, Ahmed Mohamed Nasir, has ruled out involvement of the Sudanese government in the recent explosions which took place in one of the hotels in the Eritrean border town of Teseney as alleged by the Eritrean regime.

A number of Eritrean civilians were killed in this explosions and others injured.

Nasir stressed that this was an internal operation as a result of contradicting policies of the Eritrean regime.

He said Sudan was not at all related to these fabrications and that these accusations were meant to attract international sympathy for the Eritrean regime which was facing numerous problems as a result of deteriorating internal political situation.

In an interview with Sudan News Agency (SUNA), He said the Eritrean regime wanted to divert attention from its internal problems and the deteriorating situation in making such fabrications. He said the Eritrean people did not believe such accusation against Sudan were true.

Eritrea officially accused last week Khartoum and Addis Ababa for being behind this incident, saying they wanted to disrupt his country’s stability
