South Sudan celebrates Torit “revolution” day of 1955

August 18, 2008 (JUBA) – The semi-autonomous Government of Southern Sudan on Monday celebrated “Torit revolution day” of August 18, 1955, which is declared as the official commemoration ‘Day of War Veterans’ every year throughout the region.
The Torit mutiny resulted into the Anya-nya I war that ended with the Addis Ababa Agreement in 1972.
Addressing the celebration in Juba, the First Vice President of the Republic of Sudan and President of the Government of Southern Sudan, General Salva Kiir Mayardit, described the Torit revolution as the starting point of the real political movement in Southern Sudan.
Kiir also urged for recognition of war veterans who also fought for freedom, justice and equality in western, eastern and northern Sudan.
President Kiir underlined that the Addis Ababa Agreement of 1972 was the only agreement of which the people of Southern Sudan tasted the dividends of peace, but was violated by the Khartoum government’s policy of divide and rule.
He said the people of Southern Sudan would never accept distortion of Sudan’s history as practiced by the previous and successive regimes in Khartoum.

Yes if we know that the idea of rebellion aganist those monks in Khartoum was originally from Greater Equatoria so why do you always bullshit and toture us on top of our rights and properties,we believe that we have single enemy yet the entire community of dinkas is just intending to be like another arabs to Equatorians,it is the same like you feed a blind and later s/he will throw you with rubbish.This is clear to me that Kiir is just showing a bit of good characters to us due to his nomination for presidential race in 2009.You must know who is your teacher where you always copy things from.

I am taking this opportunity as the special appeals to brothers in Equatoria to be very much alerts of this person here. Big famous logic, this man on my views is advertisings unfounded interest in the names of Equatoria which is totally unacceptable and it won’t be forever. However for this point I request the Equatorian to take the issue towards this man otherwise he is going very deep to Equatorian reputations and it totality. For instant, Mr Logic air his feeling as the person to parterre the image of our brothers in Equatoria which as no problems with that because of freedom of expression, but not as he did. Logic when to point of creating the language that can disable the nation and people of Equatoria in general.

Thank for 1955 revolution celbration, but i have award to say on it, i think we should not make somany holidays in the names of struggle it will seem as if our struggle have achieve its golds “yes” but this is a slide part of it and we have much ahead of us to persue, i suggested government of southern sudan should look into that to reduce our holidays,if we will be celebrating too much our output will be least in ayear remember there are two days weekends we don’t work, in a day we start work at eight (8 am) and stop at one (1:00 pm) and resum at three to five and rest of hours are for relaxation and sleeping, that means we work for atotal of seven hours in twenty four hours (24 hours/day )which also mean we work for 35 hours in aweek equivalence to one day and half with out forgetting that you might get sick reducing hours to last then aday , and at this moment our young south need much work than rest or time of celbrations,i urged my felow citizens not to misquote me,

Well, Torit revolution day would have been good if the aim of SPLM leader is not to secretly try to celebrate the SPLA-Torit faction’s lucky escape from by then advancing SPLA-Nasir faction under the comandship of his highness Dr. Guandit ni gat Machar, God bless him!!
Anyway, believe or not no Nuer will ever observe such a bloody ceremony and that of John Garang day in our Federal states of Nuerlands!
