Sudan president awards Egyptian soccer team 35 cars
August 20, 2008 (KHARTOUM) – The Sudanese president will receive Egyptian soccer team players on Thursday in honor of their achievement in winning the 2008 African Cup of Nations held in Ghana earlier this year.
Al-Rayaam also said that Al-Bashir will award the Egyptians 35 vehicles, manufactured at state-owned Giad Automotive, among other gifts. The cars will be shipped via Port of Aqaba in Jordan.
However Samir Zaher, president of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) told Egyptian press that only players, head coach and his assistants will accept the gifts. This will effectively exclude EFA members in the delegation.
Zaher also voiced his support to Al-Bashir after the International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo requested an arrest warrant for him.
The African champions on Wednesday lost 4-0 to their Sudanese counterparts in the warm-up match held in Khartoum today. This is Egypt’s first defeat by their southern neighbor in 33 years.

Sounds rhetorically as bribery to counter indictment, this is an exploitation of public resources. Indictment requires Bashir and his lawyers to go to court and defend the claimed innocence otherwise bribery won’t aid.
We have millions of Sudanese in desperate need of food while president is offering vehicles worth millions of dollars to those who have already overcome physiological need.

First of all you have to understand that the ICC indictment can not be blocked and it is beyond any state its politically standard, economical nor its memebership in Unation Nation, Even world’s super powers like USA and others countries can not cancel your indictment because some others presidents like Charles Tylor and others where arrested under the same
1593 UN resolution which does not exclude you because, you are member in UN.

Information to all dependents of president Omer Hassan Al-bashir, as you were watching the news of today, the guy was promised to give an award to Egypians team for his compaigning. mainly for two reasons. first thing is to win the election and another one is for him to be surpport by the Egyptians president to escaped the Indictment of the ICC.

Sudan defeated the Egyptians in Khartoum so where is the logical behind awarding them with Cars!!!!
A congratulation cable to the President would have been better than this nonense.
Why not motivate your own footballers,if they do not deserve the cars after beating Egypt in the warm up, then leave them in GIAD that is what.

President Bashire or future ICC culprite is digging his own grave. He is so quick in damaging his reputation by buying dirty and meaningless support from Egyptian’s soccer team. That will not ease him from being arrested. The best thing I think he would have done was to seem asylum in Cario than honoring their soccer team. This will cost him support from Sudanese soccer and/or even the entire nation.

Mr. Bashir has no sense of feelings at all. How can a country in which millions of people long for food and struggle to survive contribute 35 cars to those who earn enough to live by?
