Sudan participate in African-EU meeting in Madagascar
August 23, 2008 (KHARTOUM) — A partnership meeting between the East and South African states and the European Union is scheduled to begin Sunday in Madagascar’s capital Antananarivo and last till August 26.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Trade Nagat Hassan Mohamed Salih who will represent Sudan to the meeting said discussions would focus on economic partnership between the East and South African countries and the European Union (EU), economic integration and opening of markets.
The meetings also have to look at the issue of developing services and trade in preparation for the region’s countries to join the World Trade Organization.
Mrs Salih stressed the importance of economic groupings, adding that the meetings will be concluded by signing of an economic agreement with the European Union.
