Sudan revives hope in world cup qualifier

September 11, 2008 (CAIRO) – Sudan soccer team has manages to move past Chad after a 3 -1 goal win in Cairo.

Sudan moves to third position in Group 10 of world cup qualifier with 6 points after five matches played.

Last week Chad handed Sudan a highly unexpected defeat of 2-1.

Ahmed Adel from Sudan scored the first goal before a Chadian equalizer came through from Leger Djime.

In the second half Sudan again managed to gain the lead after a penalty was awarded few minutes after halftime scored by Faisal Al-Agab.

Saif Al-Deen Ali added the third and final goal in the match 15 minutes before the referee blew his whistle.

The soccer game was held today in Cairo because of growing tension between the two nations that sparked fear over the safety of the teams by the FIFA.
