June 5, 2024 (WAD MADANI)– The neighbourhood Resistance Committees of Madani announced on Wednesday that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) stormed the village of Wad Al-Noora in the 24 Al-Qurashi locality of Al-Jazira state, killing nearly 100 people.

The Committees of Madani released a video showing the burial of dozens of victims in a public square amidst a large gathering of residents.

In a statement received by Sudan Tribune, the neighbourhood committees reported, “The village of Wad Al-Noora witnessed a massacre after the RSF militia attacked it twice, killing up to 100 people.”

The statement emphasized that the incident in the village was a full-scale massacre carried out by the RSF, while the army remained “stationary inside Al-Manaqil locality.”

On Wednesday morning, the Resistance Committees of Madani issued a warning about the tight siege imposed by the RSF on the village of Wad Al-Noora, along with a barrage of gunfire in an attempt to storm the town before attacking it.

The National Umma Party condemned the ongoing violations by the RSF against civilians in the villages of the central Sudan state, describing the attack on Wad Al-Noora as “violent,” which resulted in the death of several civilians.

Since taking control of Al-Jazirah late last year, the RSF has been raiding villages in the state, committing heinous crimes against unarmed residents, including killing, kidnapping, forced displacement, and looting of properties, including crops and household furniture.

Al-Jazirah residents have increasingly called for armament to confront the atrocities committed by the RSF, which have escalated in recent weeks.

Similarly, the Resistance Committees of Al-Hasahisa in Al-Jazirah state reported that an RSF unit attacked the village of Wad Al-Amin in the rural area of Abu Ushr on Saturday night, breaking into homes with the intent to steal, taking even the smallest amounts of money and possessions.

They revealed that a civilian, Muzafar Mahmoud, was injured while trying to resist “these terrorist elements.”

The committees noted that the RSF continues to commit violations against unarmed civilians under the policy of “the protector and the executioner,” making the myth of chaos a tangible reality as if there are two sides to the equation.

They added, “The RSF’s solution is to join the militia ranks to ward off barbaric attacks, protect the villages from chaos, and expand militarization until Al-Jazira’s communities are fully militarized.”

The RSF offers to recruit individuals from the villages in exchange for protection. This step is not welcomed by local communities that rely on agriculture and trade, which have been almost completely disrupted.
