Salva Kiir reinstates Lakes speaker, ending political turmoil
October 8, 2008 (RUMBEK) – The President of Southern Sudan and First Vice President of the Republic of Sudan Salva Kiir Mayardit said that Lakes State Speaker Isaiah Alier Mashinkok and his deputy Marik Nanga Marik who had been impeached on Sept. 24, 2008, should absolutely resume their duty in Lakes State Assembly.
“The yesterday meeting ended very well, reconciliation has been made and everybody has been told the truth. Whatever the complication that might have been happening has been put straight and everyone is now happy,” said Kiir.
Kiir regretted that he had to leave Lakes community without having had time to address the public. “I am going to talk again in Juba but I was looking forward to articulate to Lakes state community and to apologize to them over the Lakes state atrocity that were committed by Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) soldiers during the firearm search in Rumbek town on Sept. 8, 2008. I am going and I will be back to Rumbek to tour all eight counties of Lakes state including Wulu, Cueibet, Yirol and so on … I need all community of Lakes state to be patient.”
Kiir noted finally that Rumbek University construction funds are still in Khartoum in the Republican office and are supposed to be allocated from Khartoum by the office of the President of the Republic of Sudan, as promised by President Bashir in 2006. Since this has not happened, said Kiir, “we in the government of Southern Sudan met with University chancellor and the committee and we had given them some cash to start establishing the office in Rumbek and to buy car to facilitate their movement with.”

Mr. President the restating of the speakers in the parliament is not the political hilling of Lake State unless the bulldog is removed from the chair of state governorship. I don’t know why the people like you President Kiir fail to understanding the political image of those who are being brutally misguided simple because of the political incapability? Mr. Awet is not the leader in political term rather than commanding people, but even now the rule of commanding is no longer being exercises unless in Lake State but why is that if the rest of the states are enjoying the rule of law? The citizen of Lake have better future without Awet because still there are more able bodies who can lead the people according to the constitution of south Sudan, his present as the governor had subjected the citizens of Lake to the generations of wars and inter _conflicts among the tribes and corruptions base on military rules, is that why the people of south Sudan took the arms? Something need to be done before the Lake state when out of hands.

Mashinkok is indeed a fruit figure in Lakes and his removal was a total ruin of Lakes, however, be watchful of Awet, Finance Minister and his brother Bol Akot.
Please separate with immidiate effect or else problems with stills prevail there.

I extremely appreciated Salva kiir for second time. congratulation to you for the restoration of speaker and his deputy who were been inpeech by wrong arrogances at wrong time with wrong procedures ,i can simply call them power scramblers and seekers you can not seeks for powers when the powers are seeking for you. ashame on you.Hon. Isaiah should resumed his position with happiness and let them go hungry .
