Kiir urges new minister to prioritize strong working relationships
August 23, 2024 (JUBA) – South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir on Friday instructed the newly appointed Minister for Presidential Affairs to foster positive working relationships with other government institutions.
Kiir made the remarks during the swearing-in ceremony for Chol Mawut Ajongo, marking a significant moment in his administration.
The president expressed confidence in Ajongo’s abilities, citing his experience as an ambassador. He emphasized the pivotal role the Minister for Presidential Affairs plays in coordinating policy initiatives and communication between the presidency and other government branches, particularly as the country prepares for upcoming elections.
Ajongo, who previously served as South Sudan’s Ambassador to Kenya, welcomed his new assignment and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve in this capacity.
The Deputy Governor of Central Equatoria State, Paulino Lukudu Obede, was also sworn into office.
