Darfur rebels deny Sudanese accusations of killing Chinese oil workers

October 28, 2008 (LONDON) — The Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) denied Sudanese government accusations of killing 5 Chinese oil workers who were kidnapped by a tribal group in southern Kordofan.

Ahmed Hussein Adam, the spokesperson of the rebel movement condemned the killing of the Chinese oil saying “the Justice and Equality Movement condemned the kidnapping and the killing of the innocent civilians because we are committed to the principles of the humanitarian international law in our struggle for justice in Darfur.”

Adam further said Khartoum has to explain the circumstances surrounding the killings because they have something wrong in this incident.

However JEM official said we are not happy with the Chinese role which is fuelling the genocidaire machinery of the Sudanese regime and provides political and diplomatic support to Khartoum.

He also invited the Chinese government to reconsider their in Sudan and to understand that such relations with the current government would damage the future of the friendly ties between the people of the two countries.

Three Chinese engineers and six other workers employed by the China National Petroleum Corporation in South Kordofan were kidnapped on October 19.

The bodies of Chinese hostages and colleagues recovering from a kidnapping ordeal were to be flown to Khartoum on Tuesday as Sudan vowed to step up security for foreign oil workers across the country.

This statement is creditable because JEM freedom fighters never have any past records of inhumane and brutality against civilians unlike Omer Al-bashir who has local record of brutality and murder of two million people in the South, and international records of 3 counts of genocide, 2 counts of murder, and 5 counts of war crimes against humanity in Darfur. So, if Chinese were dead it is more likely to be Al-bashir who murdered them and made up story to decept public opinion. Nevertheless, Chinese collaborators must be held liable for their own death because they broke into Sudan through the window, and their mission is unwelcomed by vast majority of the Sudanese people.

Chinese are obstacles to comprehensive peace in Sudan and are used by Sudanese government as their shield. They are being criticised of fuelling the war in Sudan by selling arms and tanks to Sudanese ruling National congress party. Warning has been made several time China do not listen not knowing that sucking Sudanese resource at the expense of their right is like sucking blood.
The government in Khartoum violates human right because China will support them.
I think it is good for them to get the consequences of their ignorance.
