Sudanese participation in Ethiopia’s investment said crucial to boost ties

November 20, 2008 (BAHIR DAR) — Ethiopia said the immense participation of Sudanese investors in Ethiopia has vital role in promoting Ethiopia-Sudan relations to a further higher level.

The remark was made after Ethiopia higher government officials led by special advisor to Ethiopian PM, Bereket Simon and Sudanese investors last week paid a visit to an agricultural products processing and manufacturing factory which is being constructed in Bahirdar town of Amhara region by a Sudanese investor, Asharf Sidahmed.

During the occasion Bereket Simon said Ethiopia and Sudan have long standing and strong ties based on mutual understanding cooperation and mutual benefit.

The started investment involvement of Sudanese investors in the Amhara regional state is crucial to further boost all rounded relation of the two brotherly nations, Bereket added

He assured federal and regional governments will provide every necessary support for investors coming to the region.

Ashraf Sidahmed, owner of the factory to his side said his participation in the region’s investment is a clear indication that there is a favorable ground for investment and called on others to take advantage of it.

The factory, Ashraf group, when goes to function two months later, will create a Job opportunity to 900 Ethiopians.

Regional president, Ayalyew Gobeze to his part said such investment by our neighboring brothers have big role in facilitating development of the nation & pledges to do every support to his power.

The Sudanese investor, Sidahmed has also a plan to construct a cement factory in Ethiopia with a capacity of manufacturing 7000 tons of cement on daily bases it was learnt.
